It's a ........ you'll have to read to find out!

So - here's our sweet little baby! I just couldn't take not knowing anymore. There is a HUGE consignment sale here at the fairgrounds on March 6-7 and I just needed to know before I go there so I know what to buy.....and I was gettting way too attached to the sweet little girl clothes at Carter's and I wanted to buy them so bad! But I didn't.
Anyway - I called one of those 3/4-D Fetal imaging places and after a long drive in heavy rains into San Francisco yesterday this is the result! We are due in August with a bouncing (and I mean bouncing that kid doesn't quite moving) baby boy!! You can see in the pictures where he is playing peek-a-boo, sleeping like his daddy with his arm on the back of his neck and already sucking his thumb!
We are very very excited and are looking forward to meeting this little guy! We are going to name him Erik George Michael Mooers. Erik (Mike's middle name) George (Mike's dad and my Uncle George) Michael (My Dad and Mike). So, he will have lots of strong men to live up to!
Hope you enjoy the photos!

14 weeks!

Well, we are now well into the second trimester and doing fine so far! It's hard to really know I'm pregnant. The nausea has faded away, I can't feel the baby yet and basically the only way I know is to go to the Dr. and see it on the ultrasound.....so I'm not feeling very pregnant right now.
But just wanted to say Hi and let everyone know things are going well!!
Mike and I have a few classes to sign up for in the next month, that hopefully will put us more at ease for a few things.
Our sex determination appointment got switched from March 5th to March 16th ;( which bummed me out because I wanted to go to this huge children's consignment sale on the 6th knowing what I was going to have. Maybe I can get a 3-D before then and know anyway, we'll keep you posted!

The Wave

We have officially made it into the 2nd trimester and things are going great! We had our first trimester screening test yesterday which screened for our chances of a Down's or Trisomy baby. Before the test my chances were 1 in 99 for a Down's based on my age - and my chances for a Trisomy were 1 in 1,000. After the test (the Doctor has to measure the fat on the back of the baby's neck, compare it with my age and blood sample and the numbers are now a 1 in 300 chance for Down's and a 1 in 3,000 chance for Trisomy. She said it wasn't a guarantee but it looked normal to her. My pregnancy age went from 40 to 35 after the tests...so that was good!

The worst part was when you're a thick girl it's hard to get that ultrasound through the fat enough to see the baby so they have to push REALLY hard.....it still hurts today, but the mortifying part is that I had to reach down, grab my belly and LIFT it up so the Dr. could put the ultrasound under it. This test was an hour long and I had to hold my belly up forever!! The whole time I kept thinking - I am NEVER doing this again - this belly has to go away. Mike, however, sweet man that he is offered to hold the belly (it seems to be it's own entity) when my arms got tired. Super sweet .... and never gonna happen...but thanks honey!
